Nizār bin Maʿadd was one of the forefathers of the Prophet ﷺ. One opinion on the origin of his name is that he was born with the divine light (nūr) of the Prophet ﷺ on his face, which overjoyed his father. He invited the people for a feast in celebration of his birth and pronounced that "all of this is little (nazr) in lieu of the rights of this child. The other opinion is that his name means skinny, in reference to his build.[1]
